At Madonna Learning Center, we work together with the teaching team and families to facilitate growth and development. Lead Teacher:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited college or university with emphasis in the appropriate field. Current teaching license and certification from the State of Tennessee. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for completing appropriate student assessments, creating and implementing Individualized Education Plan using research-based, intensive, individualized instruction and small-group instruction. The Special Education Teacher also creates and teaches appropriate curricula and assigns work designed for each student’s educational team and must be able to communicate with a wide variety of individuals including educational/therapeutic staff, support personnel, community agencies, other health professionals, parents and students. Strong behavior management and positive discipline skills are required. The Special Education Teacher must oversee and direct activities of assigned Teacher Assistants.

PE Teacher:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education preferably Adapted PE, or related field, from an accredited college or university with emphasis in the appropriate field. Current teaching license and certification from the State of Tennessee.

Job Description:  The Physical Education Teacher teaches students safe, appropriate methods to improve motor skills and fitness levels. The Physical Education teacher directs physical activities that will increase learning and produce positive behavioral changes in small-group settings. The Physical Education teacher must function as a member of an educational team and must be able to communicate with a wide variety of individuals including educational/therapeutic staff, support personnel, community agencies, other health professionals, parents and students. Strong behavior management and positive discipline skills are required.
